In an another sad twist for the New Brooklyn Nets last night they lost their first round pick (odds were against keeping it) to the Portland Trailblazers from the Gerald Wallace trade earlier this year even with the beautiful Irina Pavlova in attendance to bring them some much needed luck. The Trailblazers now get the 6th pick in the 2012 NBA draft to go along with their own pick at 11 and can rebuild their franchise accordingly. The Nets on the other hand have a much tougher route and have to go the way of FA’s and trades to fill out a roster that only has 4 current players under contract and the biggest piece about to opt out of his current deal. The road is not easy from this point for Billy King but I for one have faith in his plan and hope he can pull off the big WIN WIN this offseason. The Nets NEED to resign Deron Williams as well as finding enough pieces to placate him into signing a 5 year deal to stay in Brooklyn. King has a nice resume of finding players in second round of the draft as well as an owner with unlimited pockets to buy into the 1st round to get a pick if needed.
Can Billy King bring Dwight Howard in a trade and make a few other trades and signings to make the Nets a contender???
The New Orleans Hornets won the NBA Lottery last night in what most can call ” a shoe in” as the league owned Hornets defied the odds and get the chance to draft the great Anthony Davis. The conspiracy theories are running ramped today and Adrian Wojnarowski wrote a great article on “how it looks as if the lottery is rigged”.
Woj – “There’s no proof, and there will never be proof. Yet, there’s an appearance of impropriety – always an appearance – that marches arm-and-arm with Stern into the twilight of his commissionership, marches right out the door with him.

The Nets have a decent chance of winning the Draft lottery via Sporting News.
Irina Pavlova, president of Mikhail Prokhorov’s Onexim Sports & Entertainment USA will be at the Lottery to represent the Brooklyn Nets.
The Charlotte Bobcats have the best chance to win the top pick. Kentucky’s Anthony Davis will be selected first, no matter to wins the lottery.
Here’s a breakdown of each team’s chances to win the first pick:
Team, Record, Chances,
Charlotte, 7-59, 25 percent
Washington, 20-46, 19.9
Cleveland, 21-45, 13.8
New Orleans, 21-45, 13.7
Sacramento, 22-44, 7.6
New Jersey*, 22-44, 7.5
Golden State#, 23-43, 3.6
Toronto, 23-43, 3.5
Detroit, 25-41, 1.7
New Orleans!, (from Minnesota, 26-40), 1.1
Portland, 28-38, 0.8
Milwaukee, 31-35, 0.7
Phoenix, 33-33, 0.6
Houston, 34-32 ,0.5
* This Nets’ pick goes to the Trail Blazers unless it’s in the top three.
# The Warriors’ pick goes to the Jazz unless it’s in the top seven
! The Hornets have two lottery picks, and thus a 14.8 percent chance to land the top pick.
Only the top three picks are determined by the lottery. The rest of the first round will be determined based on record. In other words, the lowest the Bobcats can pick is fourth.
